Ilie Ann Saunders Newton

Ilie Ann Saunders was born on 21 May 1912 in Barraba, New South Wales. She was the daughter of John Wilson Saunders, aged 42, and Eliza May Johnson, aged 27.

On 28 November 1930, Ilie married William Roy Newton in Barraba, New South Wales. Together they raised four children over the course of their marriage: Enid Muriel, Jeanette, Betty, and Desmond William.

Ilie passed away on 1 September 2001 in New South Wales at the age of 89. She was buried beside her husband at Albury Cemetery, New South Wales.

William Roy Newton

William Roy Newton was born in 1911 in Barraba, New South Wales. He married Ilie Ann Saunders on 28 November 1930, and together they built their family in New South Wales.

William died on 12 December 1997 in New South Wales at the age of 86. He was buried at Albury Cemetery, New South Wales.

Children

Enid Muriel Newton was born on 18 February 1931. She died on 2 May 2018 in Sydney, New South Wales, at the age of 87 and was buried at Sutherland Cemetery, New South Wales.

Jeanette Newton was one of Ilie and William’s daughters.

Betty Newton was another of Ilie and William’s daughters.

Desmond William Newton was born in 1950 in New South Wales. He died on 14 October 1977 in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, at the age of 27. He was cremated in Lismore, New South Wales. A memorial plaque in his memory is placed on the grave of his maternal grandparents, John Wilson Saunders and Eliza May Johnson, at Barraba Cemetery.
